It feels bittersweet to complete my first internship at lloyd Taco Factory. On the one hand, I am sad my time at lloyd is coming to an end, but on the other hand, I am excited to see what comes next. As the old saying goes, change is uncomfortable but necessary.

During my time at lloyd, I learned a great deal about digital marketing and myself. At the beginning of my internship, I hoped that this experience would open my eyes to what I want to do in the future, and it did. Lloyd’s commitment to its community and the environment has shown me the importance of being sustainable. They locally source their ingredients from farmers or food artisans, while most restaurants, especially large corporations, have yet to shift from factory farming to local suppliers. Upon graduation, I want to use my experience and understanding of marketing to implement more sustainable marketing practices throughout businesses in Western New York. Increasing local business efforts toward sustainability will help promote economic growth across the region.

Overall, this experience was fulfilling on many levels. I made long-lasting connections, developed a deeper understanding of the industry, and ate one too many burritos. I want to give my supervisor, Pat Fisher, a special shoutout for the guidance and knowledge he has lent these last couple of months.
