For my networking event, I attended the Griff Fair. I had never gone in the past, so I was excited to finally see what it was all about. The event was on March 31st and was held in Science Hall. I had to register for the event before it occurred and when I got there, there were a lot of different employers present. There were many options of people to talk to, as there were over 50 employers. Students had the opportunity to walk around the room and stop at the tables that related to their interests or major.

I thought some of the sports companies were pretty cool, so I talked to the recruiters for Pegula Sports & Entertainment, as well as the Buffalo Bisons. I learned about their internship and employment opportunities in regards to being on their media teams. I also stopped by WGRZ-TV and learned about their company. I got to know about their recruiter and the company as a whole. All these types of companies were very different, as they focus on different aspects of media: news and sports. I thought Griff Fair was very beneficial, as it got me out of my comfort zone and talking to potential future employers. I thought it was great experience for networking, even though I was not necessarily looking for a job.
