I attended the Buffalo Broadcasters Association Job Fair located at the WNED-TV Studios in Buffalo, NY. There were many different TV and radio stations that were there, like Buffalo/Toronto Public Media, Audacy, Spectrum News, and WUTV FOX 29 Buffalo just to name a few. Before we were able to meet with everyone individually, they began the event with a discussion from a few people to give us advice on resume building, gaining experience/internships, and what possibly employers might be looking for. After the discussion, they allowed people in the audience to ask them questions. It was very informative and helped me understand what employers in this field are really looking for when seeking someone to hire for a position.

I felt a little more confident going into this broadcasting event. Compared to the last one I had visited I knew I have gained a lot more experience and felt a lot more qualified for certain positions than I was before. I would really like to do something in radio once I graduate, so I spoke to various different radio stations like Audacy, Buffalo/Toronto Public Media, Cumulus Media, and Crawford Media Group (WDCX Radio). Another table I spoke too that was unique compared to the rest of the tables was Reel Talent Coaching. They help coach you with making resume tape, which I thought was very useful with my dream to do sports play-by-play broadcasting.
