On March 31, I attended the job fair that was held at Canisius College in Science Hall. I discovered a lot of valuable information about various companies that are in the field I am pursuing (sports broadcasting). I was sure to check out all of the booths that made an appearance, looking them over for any pamphlets or brochures that caught my eye. I also made sure to talk with the company representatives that spent time at Canisius for the job fair. For example, I learned that Pegula Sports and Entertainment offers positions that I would be interested in. I also stopped by the Buffalo Bisons booth to check in with the representative there. I was a former Buffalo Bisons intern, so I wanted to continue to cast a positive shadow around my name within the organization. I applied the networking event tactics that we have learned and also used before once again, and I feel that they assisted me during this job fair. While this event was a little different than the networking event back in September in the sense that asking about company positions may be more appropriate this time, many of the same tips can still apply to make the experience as productive as possible. Due to the fact that I reference these tips, I feel that my time there was indeed wisely spent.
