This past week, I started my internship at the American Cancer Society! In my first week, I did a lot of settling in. I met most people who work in the Amherst office and got a tour. One of my favorite parts of the office is the wig room. Here, any cancer patient can make an appointment and when they come in on that given day, they’re able to pick out a wig to keep at absolutely no charge.
My first day, I sat in on a meeting with all of the communication reps in the North Eastern area. Then, I got to sit down with another person in the office and plan out all Instagram posts between now and the beginning of March. I can tell they all really value my opinion and ideas. I am eager to go back this week!
I love the work ACS continues to do everyday and I’m very excited to be interning in their communication department.
