When starting my internship at WNY Book Arts Center, I expected to spend my first day just being shown the ropes and mostly following my supervisor around to learn about what I would be doing. That’s not at all what happened, thankfully.

Working for a non-profit supporting all arts relating to printing and books, I got to spend my first day learning old-fashioned type setting and printing using antique printing presses to help fill a rush order of posters. As a pretty creative person, I’m so glad to have an outlet for art at my internship. I’ve also been able to work with my coworkers to create an image for WNYBAC on social media and Etsy posts. From bookbinding to creating mass emails, I’ve been able to learn many different aspects of working in such a creative space in my short time at WNY Book Arts Center so far.
