My first week at the Bee Group Newspaper

My first week working at the Bee was great. On Friday, I was able to shadow one of the sports reporters while he covered a football game between Williamsville North and Williamsville East. He was very helpful with explaining to me what I’ll need to know when covering a game on my own in the future. Such things included what I should be writing down while the game is in progress, how I should be tweeting the score of the game each time a team scores, when is the appropriate time to interview coaches/players after the game. I had my first day in the office on Monday. I edited some of the stories that were sent into the sports section, and I even got to put together a story with some of the information sent to the paper. I had a lot of fun my first week!
