Coming to the end..

As the stressful semester comes to an end, I can proudly say that I have never been stressed at my internship. The experience has been great! Looking back to where I was in the beginning of the semester compared to now, I can say I have learned a lot about newspaper publications. The whole team at The Public has been very helpful throughout this journey. The designer showed me the process of laying out the copy with ads to create a successful layout design and my supervisor showed me techniques about writing copy. I was able to put my photo editing skills to good use. I would start off the day by editing photos for their website, followed by making social media headers for events coming up and small ads promoting band events. Getting the designer’s feedback was extremely helpful and I will keep it in mind for future projects. The skills and knowledge that I acquired while interning at The Public will carry with me as my career moves forward in the design field.
