We have had three shoots since my last discussion post, two in our own studio and one on-location. Two sets were designed and built just for our studio shoot. It was interesting to see how much attention was paid to the design of the set (color scheme, modernism, etc.) as well as the placement of props after the fact. These shoots were very laid back, so I got to spend some time talking to freelancers about their careers, which is always enjoyable. Friday (the on-location shoot), was much more fast-paced and very humid! I was impressed by the talent and the direction taken after we went off script. Also, the talents taught me a little bit about the acting business in our downtime (they were so fun)!

As I’m wrapping up my last official week at dPost, all I can be is thankful. My supervisors have been so welcoming and generous with the experiences they have offered me. Looking back now, it is hard to believe three months have passed and I think it is the result of doing exactly what I am very passionate about. It is funny to think how all of this came together at the right time, when I was ready for more responsibility.

Fortunately, I was asked to continue working for dPost! I used to spend a lot of time asking myself, “Will I be ready for the real world?” However, the truth is, this is the real world. Real jobs aren’t around the corner, they’re right here in front of us. So, take advantage of the opportunities you have now and be great!
