I can hardly believe it but I am coming to the end of my internship experience at the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation. It seems like just yesterday I was walking into the office for my interview and now I’m almost finished. It has been an incredible few months and I have learned so much.

Over the course of my internship, I have been able to accomplish several things.  I created and implemented a social media plan for Roswell Park’s Goin’ Bald for Bucks program and, as a result, the amount of  likes on the Bald for Bucks Facebook page increased by 16 percent. I also oversaw the creation of an Instagram account for the program, something that will help showcase these very visual events. Finally, I planned the Canisius College Bald for Bucks event which raised approximately $4,000 for Roswell Park. I am so proud of everything I was able to accomplish this semester – it makes me feel I have done my own tiny part to aid in building Roswell Park’s vision of a world without cancer.

Overall, my internship experience was overwhelmingly positive and I would highly recommend that every student, regardless of his or her major, completes at least one. Classroom learning is great but nothing can ever substitute for “real world” experience. This internship was one of the highlights of my Canisius career and I will carry the skills I learned with me into the next phase of my life.
