Ever since I got this internship in November, the countdown to the first day in January began. It was always in the back of my mind – in two months, I’m going to be interning at AAA Western and Central New York. I’ve worked at Wegmans for the last 5 years and the same department for the last 4 so I’ve gotten used to my tasks and responsibilities. I was nervous to have a real 9-5 job and be responsible for new things that I’ve never done. Then the day came and my first challenge was finding an appropriate “business casual” outfit to wear. Once I settled on a nice sweater and dress pants, I arrived ten minutes early and had more butterflies than I’ve had in a while. I was all hyped up and nervous for nothing. Everyone welcomed me with open arms and I’ve enjoyed working with the company ever since. They never make me feel like I’m asking dumb questions and don’t get mad when I don’t know how to do something. So far, so good! And I haven’t messed anything up yet!
