This week, the Center for Online Learning & Innovation has two special faculty and staff opportunities:

  • Tomorrow, September 15th, 2016, is our first WordPress & Divi Meetup.  Here you can learn about, share, and compare blogging ideas.  We’ll be showing Divi 3.0, an excellent upgrade of the Divi Theme that is scheduled to become available by the end of 2016. This meetup is open to everyone at Canisius, so bring your friends.  If you’ve never done any blogging before, but would like to learn about it, come to see what others are doing, and learn how to build a blog.  See how faculty, staff, and students are using blogs in courses, offices, and events at Canisius.  If you’re doing interesting things with a blog, we’d love to see it.
  • On Friday, September 16th, is the introductory webinar for our Online Course Development Workshop (OCDW).  This six-week virtual mini-course is ideal for faculty who intend to teach fully online, blended or hybrid courses – especially in the fall (term II) and spring semesters. This time around is a special opportunity; the workshop is led by COLI faculty fellow Dennis Mike, PhD.  Professor Mike has been teaching literacy education and instructional technology courses at the higher education level since 1991. Since coming to Canisius as an associate professor in 2009, he teaches almost exclusively online and the focus of his recent scholarly work is also in this area.  For more information about the Online Course Development Workshop, contact Leah MacVie at Ext. 8355.

And as always, check out our self-paced training resources and documentation available through our Wiki, YouTube, and social media spaces!
