To facilitate recovery from Winter Storm Elliot, our Winter Faculty Development Week, taking place next week ( January 9th-12th) is moving to an online format. Sessions will not take place on campus, but instead will be online via Zoom. The Celebration of Scholarship gathering, and the New Faculty Breakfast, will be postponed – details to follow on those events.
We do this reluctantly, as we are aware that the WFDW has become an important social as well as professional opportunity for Canisius faculty. But we are aware that many faculty, including session leaders, now face personal complications resulting from Winter Storm Elliot, such as delayed but essential travel or personal property damage. Also, we would like to stay out of the way of staff who are diligently preparing our campus for the Spring 2023 semester.
While this is not ideal, we believe we have an excellent lineup of development sessions led by gracious colleagues. And they are now easier to attend!
