Our friends in the Canisius College Education Technologies Program are hosting a FREE webinar on Best Pedagogy and Practice for Online Course Design. This topic is especially relevant in light of current health issues and remote learning. During this session participants will have the opportunity to ask questions about the technologies modeled.

The session will be held on August 18th, at 9:00 am. Dr. Ron Kotlik, Canisius Education Technologies Program Director and Clarence HIgh School teacher, will host the session.

Best Pedagogy and Practice for Online Course Design

Participants will get an overview of online course design and learn how to teach and assess readiness for distance learning. Participants will be introduced to the concepts of the virtual community building and student centered learning, including the design and delivery of online coursework. Session concepts include synchronous and asynchronous learning systems, using the web for instruction, online teaching assessment tools, and how students’ needs can be addressed in online delivery. Current research in online teaching and learning will be explored and participants will begin to consider how they might build basic course components in their subject area.
