In Teams, by default Members (i.e., anyone who is not an owner/did not create the Team) can create channels, add apps, create private channels, and more. We can restrict Members from modifying the Team by following the steps found below:
In a Team, click on the three horizontal dots to the far-right of the Team name. In the menu that appears, click on Manage Team.
Click on Settings in the navbar at the top.
Click on Member Permissions to see all of the permissions that members of our Team have.
To remove a permission, click on the checkbox to the left of a permission. We recommend removing all permissions except for the last two: Give members the option to delete their messages Give members the option to edit their own message
For more details, please see the Microsoft Teams: Set Team Member Permissions Wiki page. For more tutorials on Microsoft Teams, see the Microsoft Office Support: Teams Tutorials Wiki page.
