Join us as we discuss topics ranging from strategies to increase Student engagement in virtual (i.e., Online and/or Hybrid) courses, personalizing the virtual spaces, and tuning virtual classrooms to better meet Student expectations and needs.
Session 01: Click & Connect: Engaging Minds Across the Screen

We kick-off the Cyber-Savvy Scholar Series by exploring best teaching practices for virtual teaching, common challenges and solutions, beneficial resources and tool, and will take a virtual tour of a few D2L Classes. Participants are also welcome to share their own experiences during this session.

Session 02: Presence over Platform: Making Virtual Learning Personal
Wednesday, March 25th, 2026, 4:00PM-5:00PM via Teams
In this session, we learn how to make seemingly impersonal virtual content and course spaces more personal to Students, allowing us to better connect with and engage Students. We will also discuss common pitfalls and solutions and look at some useful tools and resources to help tackle this particular subject. As with the previous session, all are welcome to share their insights too!

Session 03: Through the Student Lens: Fine-tuning Your Virtual Classroom
Tuesday, May 19th, 2026, 4:00PM-5:00PM via Teams
To wrap-up the Cyber-Savvy Scholar Series for the Spring 2026 semester, we discover how to better-tune our virtual courses to the needs of our Students. This includes feedback direct from Students, research-based pedagogy best practices for virtual learning, reviewing common challenges and solutions, as well as tools that can help. As in the previous sessions, we welcome discussion of any previous experiences!
