Summer Faculty Development Week is almost here! This year, it will be from August 17th to the 21st!
We have a wide variety of sessions this year!

- Mission in Curriculum: The Jesuit Way at Canisius with Spencer Liechty and Dr. Stephen Chanderbhan
- This session will provide a brief overview of the Jesuit mission and ways to integrate mission into curriculum including a discussion on community-based learning and engagement (service-learning).
- Syllabus Best Practices & Checklist with Dr. Jonathan Rodgers and Dr. Maura Snyder
- In this session, Drs. Jonathan Rodgers and Maura Snyder review best practices for creating Syllabi and unveil a handy new checklist with information that all Syllabi at Canisius should have.
- The Canisius Lightboard Studio: Bring Online Lectures to Life at the Push of a Button with Dr. Craig Rogers
- Many of us thrive on classic lecture: standing up front, outlining ideas on the board, and connecting with students in real-time. But recreating this dynamic online is difficult. What if we could bring that same energy to our digital content? Dr. Craig Rodgers explores how the Lightboard Studio, a simple yet powerful setup, lets us write directly over our presentation visuals while maintaining eye contact with students. Come see how the Lightboard works and discover how easy it is to create professional-level videos for your next module at the push of a button.
- Do You Rest?: The Science of Work-Rest Balance, Productivity & Wellbeing with Dr. Chirantana Mathkari
- Through this workshop, we will demystify the meaning of rest, understand the science of rest, and discuss the role of rest in a fulfilling career. We will then explore methods of effective working and resting, and end by discussing the impact of rest on long-term wellbeing.
