The Canisius College Summer Reading and Writing Camp provides two weeks (July 16-20 and July 23-27, Monday-Friday) of one-hour long, reading and writing experiences for students in grades 2-12. Each day has a scheduled one-hour reading camp (1–2 p.m.) followed by writing camp (2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.). There’s a reduced price for enrolling in both camps. Students can also enroll in the reading camp for one week, and writing camp the next week, for the reduced price.
Students will be engaged in highly motivated small group activities (i.e. web quests, literature circles, readers’ theater, poetry jams) and working with peers and with literacy interns. Interns are certified teachers who are near completion of the masters in literacy education. Canisius College faculty will supervise the camp experience. For more information contact Ginny Carver at carverv@canisius.edu or Ext. 3728.
