The Search Committee for the new Vice President for Institutional Advancement is pleased to announce that Julie Snyder and Joe Brennan have been selected as the finalists for the position. They will visit Canisius in the coming weeks for a series of interviews with members of the campus community.

Staff and faculty are encouraged to participate in the process and attend an open session with the candidates at the following times and locations:

Julie Snyder – May 24 at 10:00 a.m. in the Regis Room (South)

Joe Brennan – June 6 at 10 a.m. in the Grupp Fireside Lounge

The job description and resumes for the candidates are available for review on Angel. A web-based evaluation form also will be posted there for you to submit feedback.

The Vice President for Institutional Advancement plays a pivotal role in the vitality of the college. Please consider adding your voice to the search.

Summer office hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with one-half hour for lunch, will be in effect from Monday, May 20 through Friday, August 16. Adjustments in hours may be made where workloads require different operating hours.

Your Golden Griffin baseball team closes out the regular season with a three-game set versus Fairfield. Canisius and the Stags are scheduled to play a doubleheader on Thursday at Noon and conclude play with a single nine inning game on Friday, also at Noon. Saturday will serve as the rain date should the three game series not conclude by Friday evening.

The Media Center is looking for faculty members interested in trying out some new technology during the upcoming summer sessions.

Wireless Document Camera
This document camera wireless transmits the image to the unit’s base station, thus providing the flexibility to have it setup anywhere in a classroom.

Collaborative Classroom
Old Main 221 has three carts for student group use. Each cart has an LCD TV, PC, keyboard and mouse. Content from each cart’s computer, as well as from the lectern computer, can be shared by using GoToMeeting.

Classroom Capture
Science Hall 1013A and 1013B are equipped with classroom capture systems. The system allows for video and audio recording of a presenter along with content from the resident computer, a laptop, or the document camera. Users must provide their own USB thumb drive in order to record.

The 2013 JPMorgan Corporate Challenge is scheduled for Thursday, June 6. All faculty and staff, whether or not they are experienced racers, joggers or walkers are invited to join the Canisius College Corporate Challenge Team.

The 3.5 mile course begins and ends at Delaware Park. Starting time is 6:45 p.m.

The Canisius College hospitality tent opens at 5:00 p.m. and Chartwells will provide refreshments before and after the race.

Entry fee includes race registration, refreshments, JP Morgan Corporate Challenge shirt & virtual goody bag. Prices include:

A custom Canisius College Corporate Challenge Team TECHNICAL SHIRT will be given to the first 30 people to register.
