I’m pretty sure I’m not alone when I say that I am thoroughly and utterly confused with mother nature this month and last month. We had a week of beautiful sunshine, temperatures in the 80s, and then we come to this… sleet and snow in April. Wind at 100000 miles an hour, kind of like we should be back in November. I don’t know if we should point to climate change, or the fact that Buffalo isn’t exactly known for having the world’s greatest weather but I would like a refund on my spring. Probably the best part of warm weather in springtime is seeing everyone out in the quad. I didn’t even know that many people even went to Canisius! You literally cannot walk across the quad without getting hit in the head by either a frisbee, football, baseball, or some other random ball. Your choice. I guess it’s because the freshmen who have been taking the tunnels to class all winter haven’t seen the sun or smelled fresh air since mid November when they decided it was too cold to wear their pajama shorts outside to class anymore.
Since it’s cold now and everyone’s back in the tunnels, I guess I’ll take my lonely walks to health science without getting to see everyone’s smiling faces in the quad, or bodies laying in the grass trying to get tan before June. I’ll also keep glancing longingly at my collection of sundresses who only began to see the sun before they were stuffed away again.
