Summer Jobs

By Louiza | August 29, 2011

Summer is when everyone spends all day working to make the money that they’ll end up spending during the school year. People have all sorts of jobs that come in different forms, some work full time or more while some just work part time so that they can enjoy more of their summer than others. It’s a great way to make friends too and bond with others that are going through the same summer events as you are.

My main job during the summer was working in the Admissions Office at Canisius. It was a part time job and it was a great way for me to get back on to campus after being gone for the entire spring semester. Being able to work as a tour guide again made me so excited and I got to have the opportunity to talk to parents and prospective students. Not to mention, it was a fun way for me to earn back all the money that I spent while in Europe! What’s nice too about summer jobs, especially in college, is that a lot of the time they can lead to an internship or sometimes even a job after graduation. Your employer can see how you work in their environment and that way they can decide whether you are a good fit or not!

Summer jobs are enjoyable for the most part but at the same time, they make the summer go by so fast and then you get to the day before classes and wonder where your summer went!
