Thanksgiving Break
By Tán | November 22, 2010
As much as I love it here, I need a break. And by break I mean going home and hanging out with old friends and being with my family, while eating real, homecooked meals. Do all the old things you used to do. See all the people you used to see.
College has definitely taken its toll on me mentally. I really do hope your first semester is the worst, partly because I am still in the transition from high school to college. You begin to realize which of your friends that you have made are actually there for you, begin assimilating to college level work, and begin to realize what you are here for. Everyone loves to party, but partying alone will not get you far in life. The semester is coming to an end quicker than most of us have expected, and final exams are what matters most.
Girls (and guys), avoiding the Freshman 15 is easier than you think. Watch what you eat (it’s hard when food is thrown at your face) and exercise often. Instead of taking the elevator all the time, try the stairs. And on top of all the homework I have from Biology and Chemistry, I make time to go to the gym daily and recover on the weekends. It’s all about managing your time wisely and effectively. Do what is best for you.
With that being said, everyone have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
