A Cheap Halloween
By Lyndsay | October 31, 2010
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays! Who doesn’t like dressing up like someone else for a couple nights and seeing the variety of crazy costumes people come up with? This year I was determined to not spend a lot of money on costumes, but just try to be creative… mostly because I’m broke.
So this weekend I had two costumes for two different nights. Friday night, two of my roommates and I were the Kardashian sisters. We bought black wigs, loaded on the makeup, and dressed up how they usually do. It was hilarious and we’ve been thinking of sending them our picture just to show some love. So that costume was 10 bucks because of the wig.
The second night I was an Indian with two other roommates as well. Now this is where things got creative. We went to JoAnn Fabrics got some brown and tan fabric on sale for 12 bucks! We cut it to give ourselves dresses and tied them in all certain ways. Our dresses looked legit. We wore moccasins and braids and fathers in our hair. A little over 15 dollars for that costume…I think it was a successful Halloween that saved my roommates and I some money.
Tonight, since it is actually Halloween, some of my roommates and I are going to our friends house for her little brothers Halloween party with some of his friends from third grade. I’m thinking were going to wear our Indian costumes again. Now I just wish I wasn’t too old to go trick-or- treating!
