The Tutoring Center

Here at Canisius we have a wonderful tutoring center. Last semester, which was my first semester, I used it for almost every paper I had to write for English. I am not the best when it comes to writing long papers and at the tutoring center they go over the whole paper with you and tell you what to do to make it better. I went three times with three different papers and had three different people each time. Two times I actually had adjunct professors look over my paper and the third a grad student. I am so grateful for how helpful they are because without their help I would not have gotten and A- in the class! I also learned something every time I went. I never knew that when you watch someone correct your paper it actually helps you become a better writer. I suggest anyone and everyone go to the tutoring center if you are having trouble! They are all really nice and welcoming. One thing I was first afraid of was that they were going to laugh at how horrible my paper was, but they did not judge me one bit. They saw the good parts of my paper and complemented them and helped me fix the weaker parts. So do not be afraid, go and get your paper revised today!!!!
Another part of the tutoring center that I started to take advantage of was the math section. They have many math tutors who are very bright and willing to help anyone. It has really helped me in my calculus classes. The people working there are students just like everyone else here and they understand that math is hard. Whenever I go there I always find myself laughing and having fun while I am doing my homework. Also if I was a little bit confused about something in class they verify it for me and make it a lot clearer. I am so happy that Canisius has such a wonderful math tutoring center because without it I would really be lost!! So again, I recommend the math tutoring center, do not be shy!
