She says we won't ma-a-ake it now

-All American Rejects – Why Worry?

Who would imagine so much could happen in a single week? From March 13th to March 21st, I was always on the move, the way I like it. Crazily enough, I managed to stay busy in my own town, which hardly ever happens! Not that I don’t love my town, but it can get boring after a while. Lancaster, New York is not exactly a hot-spot on the map. Regardless, I found myself enjoying my time here.

Friday the 13th (scary!), a bunch of my high school friends and I decided to go Midnight Bowling. I hadn’t seen many of them since college began in August, so I was anxiously counting down the end of my shift at my workplace (Family Video) in anticipation of seeing everyone. I bowled terribly, but it sparked within me a desire to go bowling again soon. Everyone enjoyed seeing one another, so we decided to grab dessert at a local restaurant. I ended up not getting to bed until 2:30 a.m., but it was definitely worth it.

Saturday the 14th, I called my boyfriend to see how his return from college was (it’s about an 8 hour drive) and to see if he was ready for the surprise I had planned for him. After picking him up, I pulled out my MapQuest directions, a borrowed GPS system, and hand-written directions and headed out on the back roads to drive to the Rochester Institute of Technology (R.I.T.) where our mutual friend (also my boyfriend’s best friend) attends. Both were very pleased to see one another and we decided to go to Pizza Hut for dinner and catch a late showing of The Watchmen, both my boyfriend and our friend being huge comic book followers. The next day was filled with exploring the campus and saying goodbyes, which was sad in a way.

The 16th and 17th were similar days; my boyfriend and I spent time catching up, playing video games, and seeing friends. We decided to go to breakfast on the 17th and soon learned that no one under the age of 60 goes out to breakfast on weekdays. It’s difficult to know everything that’s going on in each other’s lives with the distance of our colleges, so it was quite fortunate our breaks matched up. These two days were fairly dull compared to the rest, but still fun nonetheless.

On the 18th, we visited my best friend’s college (her break was a week prior to ours) and ended up seeing a bunch of our friends there, too! It was really fun/interesting to see other people’s classes in comparison to my own. Later that day, I made my boyfriend watch the move “Mean Girls” because he had never seen it, myself forgetting how funny that movie is at times.

The 19th followed a similar suit to how I spent my Monday and Tuesday, the only difference being how I spent my night. After watching the NBC Thursday Night Line-Up with some friends, my boyfriend and I met up with some other friends for a late night meal. Afterwards, I convinced my boyfriend to go bowling since I was craving it like crazy from when I had recently gone. I still bowled terribly.

On the 20th, I finally got to play out what my boyfriend’s surprise for me was. First, he took me to my favorite restaurant where a bunch of my friends were waiting for me! It was delicious, as always, and really nice to see everyone. After that, he blindfolded me and drove to our next location. After a twenty minute ride, I opened my eyes to see Lasertron! It was so much fun! Everyone (all the same people from dinner plus a few) picked ridiculous names. I ended up getting a high score of 25,000! I was impressed with myself, especially since it was only my third time going ever! After I thanked everyone and said my goodbyes, I was once again blindfolded ant taken to my third surprise. About another twenty minutes later, at 2:00 a.m., we arrived. Since we don’t get to see each other too often, my boyfriend surprised me with a hotel room at an extremely fancy place. We stayed up the whole night watching movies, eating my favorite foods (he bought them earlier and put them in the room), and we even went swimming. It was so much fun!

Unfortunately, on the 21st I had to work in my extremely tired state. After my shift, my boyfriend and I were spending our last night together before not seeing one another for the next two months. As I sat down to decide a movie to watch, I fell asleep! He followed suit and we both were passed out until 7:30 a.m.! Nervous we would get in trouble for spending the night together without permission, we quickly said our goodbyes and I sent him home in a dash. At least I caught up on my sleep! It was quite a great way to end a wonderful break!
