Official Sponsor of the 2014 U.S.A. Olympians, Chobani Greek Yogurt did not make it to Sochi, Russia due to a dispute with the Russian Government. According to an article published in the New York Times, Russian authorities would not allow delivery of the yogurt because they said it lacked the proper customs certification. The yogurts intended for Sochi are now being donated to various food banks in New Jersey and New York.
This news was particularly interesting to the MSA students who travelled to Orlando, Florida in January 2013 to attend the National Sports Forum as well as compete in the Annual Case Cup Competition. Students were asked to develop a plan for Chobani to achieve its marketing and sponsorship objectives for this Olympic sponsorship in non-Olympic years.
MSA students just recently got back from the 2014 National Sports Forum in Dallas, Texas. Four of our students competed in the National Case Cup Competition and they were asked to develop ways to increase ticket sales for the MLS FC Dallas Soccer Team. We had an extremely successful trip to Dallas and got the pleasure of touring the Rangers Ballpark, Toyota Stadium, AT&T Stadium and American Airlines Center!
