Final decision time…

By Cassandra | April 16, 2012

Just a little bit ago my one-year cohort was asked to select our concentrations. I guess that each year the choices in what concentrations are being offered can vary. This year, we had three to choose from: finance, marketing, and international business. I personally had a very difficult time choosing. As I took the Doing Business in the European Union course, if I went with international business I could take less classes as I will be completing one of the courses in this spring semester. I was very tempted, but instead selected marketing. While I have a passion for traveling, I really have no plans on permanently relocating or spending any great spans of time out of Western New York for personal reasons. I do have a real interest in exploring the field of human resources. Unfortunately, I have already taken all of the human resources classes being offered for our program, so concentrating in this area was not an option. Therefore, marketing seemed to make the most sense for me at this time. After selecting marketing, I was able to firm up what my summer session (we take classes in both) schedules will look like. The volume of classes will be grueling in the first session…especially being in a classroom when Buffalo will sure to be having its best weather! I am not sure how others chose their concentrations, but I think it is probably best to look to where you want to be in the future and hope that you make the right choice! Thinking ahead to summer schedules makes graduating in one year feel so close…and so real!
