Weathering the storm
By Becka | August 15, 2011
The weather that last few days have been brutal here to say the least. I don’t mind Thunderstorms, but it’s done a lot of damage around the area I live, a lot of power outages and accidents. Also a little bit of hail, I have a friend who has huge dents in their car from the quarter sized hail, hopefully the weather will improve for the rest of the week.
Friday I went to a double header at Red Wings Stadium, no, I’m not talking about the Detroit Red Wings, the Rochester Red Wings are the local team here, and they’re affiliated with the Minnesota Twins. The weather was great, and they did a fireworks show after, so it was a nice night out.
I’ve been bored without school and work, but my store reopens next week, so that will keep me busy. I’ve also been looking at PhD programs, not that I’m interested in doing that anytime soon, but I just wanted to see what was out there, and I’ve found there’s not a whole lot in the Sports Business domain. I’m very interested in teach at a college in the distant future, so we will see if that ever happens.
I got a Kindle as a graduation present, so I’ve been playing with that. I’m still not used to it entirely but definitely will come in handy.
Still nothing in the job department, but still filling out applications and keeping in touch with my contacts in the industry. Hope everyone is enjoying their last couple weeks before heading back to campus, and good luck to everyone who’s moving in this week.
