A few weeks ago I started my internship at Argybargy Printing, which is a small screen-printing business located in Buffalo. After meeting with my supervisor in December, I was a little nervous that only three people work there and that the business is so small. However, since I started there it has been great! I am currently working with the owner of the business on reclaiming screens that they recently purchased. This job can be a little messy because the ink used for screen-printing does not dry or adhere to anything until heat is applied to it. So for the past couple of weeks I have had paint under my fingernails, on my hands, arms and clothing, but it is worth it. The reclaiming process consists of taking tape off of the screen and cleaning the ink off the screen with three different products. Once the products are applied, I have to scrub the screens off and then power wash them.

Even though I am getting ink all over myself and water sprayed in my face it’s inspirational to see all the different designs that are being used. The different t-shirts give me ideas of concepts that I could use to make t-shirt designs. I can’t wait to start designing my own t-shirt for this internship and working through the screen-printing process. I’m excited to learn more about the whole process of screen-printing and working with Argybargy printing!
