On April 12-13th I was sent to NYC on a production to shoot the intro for the Soho International Film Festival. The production crew consisted of about 22 people. I was Visual Effects Supervisor. This was my second time being VFX Supervisor on a shoot and this time I was much more involved. Basically my job consisted of shooting plates and making sure that things were shot in a way that would be useful to me later while doing the VFX. The most beneficial thing on this shoot was networking with the production crew. I chatted with the 2nd unit Camera and now I’ll be doing some VFX work for his independent film. I also talked with the Director of Photography and as a result he has already sent dPost some commercial work. VFX Supe is something I would like to pursue on my career path and this experience has taught me many things that I will be able to use later.
