Moskal DH Poster DomOn Thursday, April 27th, students, faculty, staff, and friends of Canisius College assembled in Lyons Hall 418 to hear Digital Media Arts Professor P.J. Moskal discuss a central element of Virtual Reality as art: immersion.  Although Virtual Reality is considered an emerging technology, Dr. Moskal demonstrated that VR has strong historical roots, as immersion and simulation are artistic techniques appearing in prehistoric times, and in many different media forms since.  After his presentation, many participants stayed to share a meal and discuss implications of VR with Dr. Moskal and each other.

Our third and final presentation in the Digital Humanities Speaker Series is part of the Canisius Innovation Conference, taking place on May 18th, 2017.  Professor Ben Dunkle, Digital Media Arts, will discuss WordPress, a powerful toolset for developing web content.
